Manchester singer-songwriter Felix Hill releases new track ‘Down by the Races’
Young singer songwriter Felix Hill from Manchester has been getting a lot of Radio play recently with his songs being featured on the likes of XS Manchester amongst other stations.
“Down By The Races” is his latest offering which is released on 9 April and I had the chance to give it a listen.
It hits you instantly with vocals which could be a mix of Morrissey, Damon Albarn and Paul Weller. The guitar riffs on this remind me of a cross between classic Marr and frantic Libertines. Think also New Order/Joy Division too on an opening riff which instantly hooks you in.
Felix sings of being “surrounded by friendly faces, down at the races” and there’s even the sound of an actual horse race in the background. It’s a dynamic track from start to finish and I for one can’t wait to hear more
