Mouse releases her first single of 2021, and it’s indie-pop heaven
Well produced indie pop, we have MISSED you. Unashamed, soft, and sweet tracks with a strong electric punch? Welcome home. And more importantly, we absolutely salute Mouse in her new track “Love Me Like You’re Gonna Lose Me” in all of its gorgeous listening perfection.
It’s no secret that we’re a sucker for Mouse’s larger than life vocals, and our favourite emerging trademark of our teeny music princess is how smooth, professional, and near bloody perfectly she can hold a note. There’s no hiding behind the beats she can drop – though her new emerging style of electric pop ambiance to prop her voice is a stunning homage to the graft this girl puts into everything she does.
You’d be forgiven for forgetting Mouse is a younger artist who would have every right to rest on her laurels in the “emerging sound” category. But because she’s as fearless as her sound suggests, she’s blown any and all expectations out of the water by having a work ethic second to none – and a body of work where you can hear every hard-earned second. It’s been nothing short of beautiful to watch the Bristolian mega babe use all of her time and creative energy to refine, retune and completely accomplish her style and sound as an artist (and a pretty formidable producer in her own right).
“Love Me Like You’re Gonna Lose Me” is the ideal follow up to critically acclaimed “A.N.D”, the first mark of a new, successful direction for Mouse. The track follows in cohesion and adorability and is even more precious at 3.33 minutes long if you’re into spirituality: ‘333’ acts as a sign of prayers being answered and if this song by Mouse is anything to go by, we’ve been absolutely blessed.
Music loving Geordie with a soft spot for cassettes and vinyl.
If you’re in an unsigned band, I’m probably your biggest fan.
Mid-twenties (so, 100 in gig-going years).
