Cobain Jones releases new track ‘Hooked’
In a world at the moment racked with uncertainty the one shining light is music and highlighting amazing young talent. Nineteen year old Cobain Jones from Greater Manchester is one of those and on Friday (6/11) he dropped his new release “Hooked“
Produced by James Skelly Of The Coral at Parr Street Studios, Liverpool this a beautiful tale of a girl called Rosie. A beautiful acoustic melody backs a song that will be in your head after one listen.
“Oh Rosie, why can’t you love me” Cobain sings and this is a joyous, captivating and melodic 3 minute journey. The lyrical and vocal honesty of this can’t help but fill you with optimism when listening.
On first listen this took me back to the great 1960s releases but at the same time has a fresh contemporary vibe to it with brilliant vocal delivery which defies his years. This lads talent has been bubbling for a while and he has received heavyweight support from Skelly and also Tim Burgess.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Cobain live a couple of times in Manchester playing with the likes of Ryan Jarvis and Chris Helme and I’m glad I’ve seen him from pretty much the start of what will be an incredible journey.
In the coming months we will be hearing the EP “Real Estate” and I for one can’t wait.
Brilliant stuff Cobain.
‘Hooked’ is available on all streaming platforms.
