In the fear of living, parade take Single of the Week
It’s Sunday, which means it time for single of the week here at WFM, it’s been a very busy week of new music – and has proved to be the toughest week to choose a track. However, we managed to get it done and selected parade’s new track ‘A Fear of Living’!
The West Midlands trio already released ‘Attack’ earlier this year, which unfortunately we missed – having listened now we realise it’s something we should’ve covered. However, we want make that mistake with this one.
The song kicks off with what feels like a big rush of blood to the head, as this heavily reverbed guitar washes over you, combined with these upbeat drums. ‘A Fear of Living’ has a very clean shaven sound, everything’s sleek, shiny and polished so hats off to production for that.
It definitely treads the line of guitar pop really well, the chorus is wonderfully catchy, you could hear this being received really well live. Finally I’m a sucker for a good breakdown so when that guitar is pulling down the walls in the final 30 seconds, you could imagine a few beers getting lost in a crowd at that point.
Excellent work from the band, looking forward to see what they have planned to close the year out, but in the mean time I’ll be working through their back catalogue!
Keep up to date with all of the Singles of the Week on our playlist below!
