Chris Greig And The Merchants
Anyone else feel like this summer has lasted a lifetime? I suppose lockdown has a massive part to play in that , but it’s almost like my playlists are the soundtrack of a summer that was never meant to be and a summer none of us will ever forget.
The latest addition to that playlist is Glue, the newest track from Scottish indie pop 4 piece Chris Greig And The Merchants , following in the footsteps of the likes of Dancing On Tables and Vistas they are one of many from the Scottish Indie scene who are starting to take the UK circuit by storm. After being supported by Help Musicians UK the track is the first in a long line of new tracks promised by the 4 piece.
The track is unapologetically guilty pleasure fuelled indie alt pop , driven by gritty sparkly guitar and the charming vocal hooks of frontman Chris , “Glue” explores the feeling of chasing a love that shouldn’t work but you want to try.
The track has a sound that would fit perfectly into an early 2000’s rom com , fans of Jimmy Eat World or Bowling For Soup will fall for the charm and nostalgia of Chris Greig and The Merchants.
