Post Ironic State release ‘Grin and Bear‘
I’ve followed Scottish based 5 piece Post Ironic State for a few years now, the first time attending a completely DIY show in a 5ft wide pub in Stirling in Scotland. They have certainly grown from strength to strength since then securing regular airplay from scottish radio legend Jim Gellatly and playing a sold out show at Glasgow’s King Tuts!
Their latest offering , dripping with dark chorus and glittering synth, Grin and Bear, is supercharged and beautifully tense – exploring the anxieties and tensions that comes with a relationship breakdown.
Fans of New Order or fellow Scots Walt Disco will fall for the complexities and attitude of frontman Jai Maccan, who’s bass vocals will send shivers up your spine.
The track, recorded at Magic Box in Dundee, is an entrancing piece of post punk but shines and drives like the floor filling dance anthems of the acid rave 90s, the track is truly unique and deserves a mosh pit filled with sweat, angst, and glitter.
