Eyesore and the Jinx take us out to experience ‘Nightlife’
After releasing three superb tracks last year, Eyesore and the Jinx have opened up their account for 2020 with the release of ‘Nightlife’. Often the case with their music it’s of high quality – which is why it makes single of the week.
Their lo-fi punky tones take influence from Parquet Courts and their early releases, except with a slight Liverpudlian twist. The fast paced, disjointed riff-raff of it all is exciting, showcasing a very different style of music to the current swell of bands we have of bands in the UK at the moment. The in your face chorus and break down is particularly busy, with the stops and starts and temperamental guitar itching to burst alive every second.
On a personal note, Eyesore and the Jinx are still one of the best kept secrets in the UK, their music is that good. Hopefully we continue to hear more from them this year, and perhaps a more substantial release of an EP perhaps giving us something to seriously sink our teeth into. In the meantime enjoy Single of the Week, enjoy Eyesore and the Jinx.
