Saytr Play Stop by and Answer some Questions!
Few bands have put quite the shift in the Saytr Play boys have – from hometown headliners to tearing up every festival they can find, they’ve been pretty busy. Not too busy for 10 questions from us, though. It’s short and sweet, this one!
Where did the band name come from?
It’s our adaptation of the Ancient Greek tragicomedy know as a ‘satyr play’
If Saytr Play’s back catalogue was a soundtrack to a film, what would it be?
Probably a quirky indie film that people struggle to categorise.
What’s the last song you streamed on Spotify?
A Million Dreams – The Greatest Showman
Best album you’ve heard this year?
Sundara Karma- Ulfilas Alphabet
What’s the best love song ever written?
Goo Goo Dolls – Iris
Most underrated band / artist of all time?
Which three artists/bands should we be looking out for?
The Monsoons – a bunch of good lads from Bury, and they’ve got a great poppy punky sound.
Wooze – they’re making a lot of big, colourful sounds right now and we like that about them.
Mint – who doesn’t love a bit of Grimsby indie?
Best venue you’ve ever played and why?
When we played Preston Guild Hall in 2017 it was a pretty special one – it was a proud night, coz it meant going back to the room where we’d all graduated together a few years previous. And we got to play to a sold out crowd.
If you wanted people to take away one message from your music, what would it be?
Just be true to yourself.
What do Saytr Play want to achieve next as a band?
We just want to make music and see the world. If we can help people along the way – even better.
