Fender continues his dominance with ‘The Borders’
There’s a reason Sam Fender has been hailing ‘The Borders’ as his favourite track from upcoming debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles.’ The Geordie boy who can do no wrong has shared possibly his most personal track yet, and it’s nothing short of stunning.
‘The Borders’ steps out of the audibly-perfect indie playground he’s created and takes the stabilizers off his journey to success. If everything fro ‘Millenial’ to ‘Will We Talk?’ was the soundtrack of the journey to where he is now, ‘The Borders’ is an open declaration to the fact it hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always sounded beautiful.
Fender’s packed a lot of lyrics into this one, but he’s created a narrative so endearing to this point that we still want to hang on to his every sombre, sad word.
Never revealing just quite how close to home this intimate track hits, Sam Fender has officially captured the art of always leaving a fanbase wanting more. And that’s no mean feat from a man who’s been on tour 75% of this year.
His voice makes you ache with pride for someone you’ve never met, and maybe that’s the beauty of it. If music from someone who’s been a little lost themselves makes you feel like you’ve found what you’re looking for… then Hypsersonic Missiles is going to be pretty incredible, isn’t it?
