Gaffa Tape Sandy – ‘Headlights’ | New Music

Gaffa Tape Sandy Offer New Single From Upcoming EP

Gaffa Tape Sandy are teasing us with lead single ‘Headlights’, from their upcoming EP, set to be released this summer. The Bury St. Edmunds trio stick to their signature garage-rock sound on the track, but there’s a shade of C86-flavoured indie pop present as well. It’s not the heaviest track they’ve released, but showcases their versatility. In short, if you were to take The Orielles and add in a pinch of punk, Gaffa Tape Sandy would be the result.

Listen Below:

The vocal interplay between Kim Jarvis and Catherine Lindley-Neilson fits in seamlessly with the instrumentals, which chop and change between sprightly pop and relatively distorted fuzz. “I think you’re a little bit sadder than you let on”, they sing, inviting the noise-pop of the chorus. There’s a lot going on in just under three minutes; it’s not a song that’s easy to get tired of listening to on repeat.

British alternative isn’t in a rut by any means, but it’s still refreshing to hear an upcoming band put out such an accomplished track. To sum up, it keeps us waiting in eager anticipation for the EP – make no mistake, Gaffa Tape Sandy are a band we need right now.
