New Track From FEVA Sees Them Hitting New Heights
FEVA have been busy supporting The Pale White around the UK, and now they’ve dropped their first track of the year, ‘Undone’. With storming guitars and relentlessly powerful vocals, it’s an emphatic, anthemic statement of intent from the Newcastle quartet.
On the whole it’s very much on the heavier side of indie – reminiscent of everyone from The Blinders to Drenge to early The Vaccines. Starting out brash and bold from the beginning, the tight bassline and slick vocals that begin the song exude a certain aura of cool that has seldom been seen since Arctic Monkeys ditched the leather jackets. ‘Undone’ only gets more intense as it goes on – the explosive chorus is probably the highlight.
In the band’s own words: “‘Undone’ is another step forward towards us finding our sound. From the beginning we’ve wanted to write huge, heavy tunes that remain upbeat and have a hook, not dissimilar to soul and pop songs, and we feel as though we’ve done that here and hopefully have a chorus that’ll be stuck in people’s heads for days.”
They’ve certainly done that with ‘Undone’. All in all, it’s an accomplished effort from a band still in their relative infancy. If FEVA can follow it up with a few more bangers in the near future, they’ll be set to continue their rise.
