Thyla grab Single of the Week with New Track ‘Candy’
It’s Sunday which can only mean one thing here at WFM, it’s Single of the Week. This week has been blessed with beautiful new music from Sophie and the Giants, Calva Louise and The Hubbards who had excellent releases.
However it’s Brighton band Thyla with their new track ‘Candy’ which grabs single of the week here!
Taking influences from many bands including Oasis, The Horrors and My Bloody Valentine it’s clear the they have a wide taste in music.
The dark melodic movement of the song provides the musical bed for lead singer Millie Duthie to lay her vocals on. The song features heavily reverbed guitars almost creating glass walls, making it sound fragile and delicate almost. When the track breaks down it sounds like the vocals are attacking you from all angles, reverbing off every wall creating a chaotic atmosphere. One that would go down well to a live crowd.
The band have had a successful year so far, and I’m looking forward to see what they can end it with!
