Beat the heart a Stockholm based band, if you don’t know where that is, Sweden. They’re an alternative rock band that started out in 2013 (with the current line up) and since starting they found themselves on a new musical path, with all of these new songs they never knew they had in them to write. With all of these songs at their disposal they went out to record them in a studio in the Swedish countryside.
Beat the Heart a band from Sweden, who’s band name definitely comes through in their song ‘Glebe Market’ which from listening to the song I can tell means a lot to the band. It starts off with quite a ‘spacey’, for lack of a better word, guitar followed by the slow ticking of the drums that keeps the open feel of the song trickling along into the first verse. Lead vocals on this track feel like you’re being guided around this ‘Glebe Market’ described, in a haunting way. This feeling persists throughout the song until arguably the best part at exactly 4 minutes in the song when the bouncy guitar takes you into a softly spoken verse which then leads up to the erupting vocal performance followed by a guitar solo that echo’s the lead singers voice. This track at 7 minutes and 20 seconds long is no short adventure but signs of a great long song is just that, it is an adventure in which you actively enjoy the ride not just the destination. Overall well worth the listen and gets my approval.
